2016 US Open: Adam Scott pre-tournament press conference video

Adam Scott sounds as confident as ever heading into the US Open at Oakmont.

After admitting that he played too much golf leading into The Masters, Adam Scott arrives at the US Open looking and sounding as confident as he ever. Scott is normally a little reserved ahead of tournaments but Scott sounds more positive than ever despite the difficult Oakmont layout.

“There was a lot of golf earlier in the year, and kind of felt the effects of that, and I’ve been really careful since the Masters time to make sure that I’m fresher for this event,” said Scott. I’m two weeks off, and I’m pretty glad I took two weeks off because this is going to be probably as tough a test as we’ve ever faced at a U.S. Open, depending on weather, but certainly the course setup is so demanding that I feel two weeks off, fresh, ready to go, done all the practice I can.”

Scott continued by talking up his chances this week on a course that could suit him perfectly if he drives the ball well.

“I really feel that if I can execute and play my style of golf this U.S. Open, I haven’t seen a better setup for me personally than this,” Scott added. “If I can drive the ball how I usually do, I think I’m at a little bit of an advantage starting out playing from down the fairway here this week”
