Tiger Woods dropped from EA Sports golf video game

Tiger Woods will not be seen in future releases of EA Sports popular golf video game.

EA Sports have decided to part ways with Tiger Woods for any future development of their golf video game franchise.

From the announcement at EA Sports:

EA SPORTS and Tiger Woods have also made a mutual decision to end our partnership, which includes Tiger’s named PGA TOUR golf game. We’ve always been big fans of Tiger and we wish him continued success in all his future endeavors.

Moving forward, we will continue to work with the PGA TOUR exclusively to create groundbreaking golfing titles and our partnership remains strong.

Reports indicate that the contract was up between Woods and EA Sports and not only will Woods not feature on the cover, but Woods will not feature in future incarnations of the game at all.

The popular golf game from EA Sports has been titled with Tiger Woods’ name since 1998.

EA Sports are still forging ahead with new versions of the golf game as revealed on their website this week. With new immersive platforms being released by Playstation and Xbox among others, we may see a completely different gameplay and experience in future releases.

EA Sports released a comparison in-game shot between the new and old – see image comparison below. It looks amazing.
