Tiger Woods doesn’t believe he will catch Jack Nicklaus’ major record: video interview

Tiger Woods has only one regret and kind of, sort of, honestly doesn’t think he will catch Jack Nicklaus’ major record.

As well as trying to get back to the golf course, Tiger Woods is in the middle of a media blitz celebrating 20 years of the Tiger Woods Foundation and launching his new brand – TGR.

As part of this launch and celebration, Woods is appearing on a couple of US talk shows including this chat to Charlie Rose. In the first clip, Woods says he honestly doesn’t believe he will catch Jack Nicklaus’ record of 18 majors. Kind of.

tgrWoods also went on to open up a little on his only regret in life – not staying for another year in college. As Ryan Ballengee at Yahoo Sports outlined, Rose was stunned at his response and pressed some more.

“If you look back, the only regret I have in life is not spending another year at Stanford (to finish out), and I wish I would’ve had one more year,” Woods said.

Rose, somewhat stunned, pressed. Woods affirmed his answer.

“All the things I’ve been through are tough, yes,” he said. “They’ve been tough, but they’ve been great for me, but I wish I would’ve gone one more year at Stanford.”

Woods, asked about his divorce from Elin Nordegren, seemed more matter of fact about the actions that led to that breaking point.

“I made a bunch of mistakes,” he said. “But in the end, Elin is my ex-wife. She’s one of my best friends. We’ve had two beautiful kids.”

Woods also talked about why he withdrew from the Safeway Open a few weeks ago, only days after announcing his return to the PGA Tour.

This final snippet from the full interview sees Woods talking more about the Tiger Woods Foundation and the new TGR brand.
