Tiger celebrates WGC win with son Charlie: video

We saw a bit of the paternal side of Tiger Woods today.

Starting the day with a seven shot lead, it wasn’t a surprise to see Tiger woods secure his eighth WGC title with a seven shot victory at the Bridgestone Invitational today.

What was surprising however was the very public family moment that took place soon after his victory with Woods’ soon Charlie in attendance.

“He understands it now, but this was the first win he’s ever been at. That’s what makes it special for both of us. He’s never seen me win a golf tournament.”, Woods said in an emotional post-tournament interview (see the video below from about the 8 minute mark).

“Sam was there when I won the U.S. Open in ’08, and she loves to look at the YouTube videos and back to daddy. She loves looking at that, and Charlie has never had that, never felt what it’s like to be with the trophy.”

Woods is intensely private when it comes to his kids and as Luke Elvy says in this video, it is not something we’re used to seeing.

  • Good on him, although I am not sure the camera needed to get right in the kids face.
