Robert Allenby reportedly arrested outside US casino

Robert Allenby is in trouble again off the golf course after reportedly being arrested over the weekend outside a casino.

Several news outlets are reporting that Australian golfer Robert Allenby was arrested outside a casino in Rock Island, Illinois in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Allenby missed the cut at the John Deere Classic on Friday and according to USA Today, Allenby was arrested for disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing.

Allenby said he left TPC Deere Run, where he missed the cut by three strokes, had dinner and played blackjack with other golfers and caddies at the casino tables. He said he was staying at the casino hotel until Saturday when he returned home to Florida.

Allenby told USA Today Sports that he didn’t know anything about the incident despite local police confirming the story.

“There’s nothing to be said or done about. Nothing happened,” he told USA Today Sports. “I have no idea, mate. No idea.’’

Australian triple-crown winner Robert Allenby is one of golf’s most generous when it comes to raising money for children’s cancer research and the fight against leukaemia, but is no stranger to controversy.

Allenby fired his caddie during the middle of a round in 2015 and controversially claimed he was kidnapped and robbed after a tournament in Hawaii in January 2015.
