Dustin Johnson wins Genesis Open and takes over as the world’s #1: video highlights

Dustin Johnson has taken over from Jason Day as the world’s number one ranked golfer after cruising to victory at the Genesis Open at Riviera.

Jason Day’s reign at the top of the world golf rankings has ended after Dustin Johnson’s emphatic five-stroke victory at the Genesis Open.

Johnson began the week third on the overall world golf rankings and needed to win and Day finish worse than third to take over the mantle as the best golfer in the world. Johnson did just that was a five-stroke victory over Thomas Pieters and Scott Brown, finishing the tournament at 17-under par.

Day held the top position for 47-weeks but is now in second place after finishing in a tie for 64th place at Riviera, 19-strokes behind Johnson. Rory McIlroy is third with Henrik Stenson and Hideki Matusyama rounding out the top-5.
