Australian breaks speed golf world record at Yarra Bend

Slow play isn’t as issue for Mitch Williamson. He just shot 77 in 31 minutes.

Melbourne’s Yarra Bend Golf Club hosted the Australian Speedgolf Open today and those on hand saw a record-breaking performance. Mitch Williamson of Orange in New South Wales shot a score of 77 in an incredible time of 31 minutes.

For those not familiar with speed golf, the golfer’s score is added together to the time taken play 18 holes. Golfer’s are usually decked out in running gear and carrying in hand a few golf clubs.

The previous record was held by American Christopher Smith when he carded a 65 in just 44:06 minutes for a speed golf score of 109:06.
