Adam Scott to play Australian Open and Australian PGA Championship

The 2016 Australian summer of golf is looking like a beauty with Adam Scott confirm for two of our big tournaments.

Adam Scott will return to Australia in November and December to play both the Emirates Australian Open at Royal Sydney (November 17-20) and the Australian PGA Championship at RACV Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast (December 1-4).

Adam Scott will join Jason Day and Jordan Spieth in the field at Royal Sydney for what is already looking like a bumper Australian Open.

“The Australian Open has always been a tournament I value highly, Sydney is a great city and I have fond memories of Royal Sydney as a great venue for championship golf,” Scott said.

“I am really looking forward to competing to win my second Stonehaven Cup in November.”

Scott will then shoot up to the Gold Coast a few weeks after (most likely after playing in the World Cup at Kingston Heath in Melbourne) to play the Australian PGA Championship.

The event on the gold Coast will be co-sanctioned by the ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia and European Tour for the second consecutive year and Scott will be hoping to win the Joe Kirkwood Cup for a second time..

“I always love coming back to Australia and competing,” said Scott, who won the Joe Kirkwood Cup in 2013. “The support I receive from the Aussie golf fans makes for a special week, especially when I am playing in my hometown, the Gold Coast.”

A long time highlight on the ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia, Scott is also looking forward to experiencing the new look Australian PGA Championship now that it’s co-sanctioned by the European Tour.

“The European Tour is where I first started my professional career so it’s great to see a co-sanctioning with tournaments in Australia,” added Scott.
