2013 Presidents Cup: Day 2 update and video highlights

The Internationals are hanging in there to cause a big upset at the 2013 Presidents Cup.

A rain delay again interrupted play at the 2013 Presidents Cup for the second consecutive day that has forced several of the days foursome matches to be completed early Saturday morning.

As it stands, USA and the International Teams have each added one point to their overnight total after two matches were completed despite the delay. The Americans now lead 4.5 to 3.5 overall with the four remaining foursomes split at two matches each.

With the greens a little slower after the rain, the late session was dominated by incredible putting and it one stage it seemed like no one on either team could miss a putt.

Phil Mickelson and Keegan Bradley were superb in their match-up against Jason Day and Graham DeLaet. The American duo won seven of eight holes during the middle of their round and at one stage led by six holes with six holes to play before eventually settling for a 4 & 3 victory.

The International pairing of Ernie Els and Brendon de Jonge did not lose a hole all day and won their match by the same margin over Bill Haas and Hunter Mahan.

The most intriguing match was Woods and Kuchar against Schwartzel and Oosthuizen. The American duo were six-under the card through seven holes but the South African duo found themselves 2-down courtesy of some great golf themselves.

Just minutes before bad light stopped play, Oosthuizen made a terrible mistake at the majestic par-3 12th hole. He found the water with his tee shot and the Americans made bogey to win the hole and shift the match very much in their favour.

Marc Leishman and Angel Cabrera find themselves in the match that will determine how interesting this event is on the weekend. The match finished with the Internationals 1up with five holes to play. A win, and the Internationals have a very good chance of causing an upset, but a loss would make things very difficult.

Play will recommence at 7:45am at Muirfield Village, Ohio – 9:45pm Australian Eastern Standard time.
